Dump Kids Club

I haven't been able to write on our blog this week. I'm not sure where the time has gone. It was great to be back at the Kids Club at the dump last week! Many of the children came running up to me with hugs and welcomed me back.

And it was impressive to see how well the high school students are doing. They ran the whole club without much help from any of the leaders! This was so exciting to see as our goal throughout the year is the mentor the students and help them grown and develop. And with just two more weeks to go (today and next week), it was thrilling to see this process working so well!

Continue to pray for the club during the summer months. We will be kicking off the club the first of June. It will be challenging for us as I don't have as much time as I used to to prepare the crafts and Bible story and so on. And we don't have our usual high school group to help. But we are committed to keeping the club going through the summer months. So pray for us.

We also usually have teams from various organizations (HCJB Global, Extreme Response, Youth World and other missions) here in Quito who come and help throughout the summer months. Please pray that our schedule will be filled with teams - this is also a big help!

Above are a few photos from my time at the club last week. It was fun to see a smile on Dyana's face! You'll also see her older sister, Diana (somehow those two names are pronunciated differently!). And one photo of Rubi, our high school student, listening to the memory verses at her table. . . the children have learned the Romans Road this year! And they were given plastic dinner plates that they decorated to take home!

And to end my post today - just a reminder of what the dump looks like. The room we use is located in the back where you see the windows/door. BUT . . . . soon I will be sharing GOOD NEWS with you about a new location for the Kids Club!
